Also, your gold trim on the actual outfit is quite defined with black lines. Did you use sharpie or did you actually stitch that on?

On the skirt it is stitched on (a zig zag stitch around the applique) and on the collar it is black puff paint. I was finding the curves a little difficult for stitching and I was in a hurry XD
Your Fire Lord Zuko is amazing! I'm planning to make the same outfit for my boyfriend, so I was wondering if you can give me some tips on doing the shoulder piece. Also, how did you do the gold flame finish? It looks absolutely amazing!

The shoulders/caplet has really thick interfacing (a heavy craft interfacing) to keep the points. The flame on top of his head? That's a gold metal sheet you can buy in craft stores. If you're talking about the flame on the chest of the caplet, that's just the one layer of the caplet showing through the top layer. I cut out the flame from the vinyl piece on top and it's glued into place there instead of stitching, althought I guess it could be stitched, I was running low on time lol.
