Just a second shot of the decorated panel.
The decorated panel of Kaoru's kimono. I painted the wave-like pattern on with fabric dye. I used cotton, and the fabric sucked the dye up so well it never even bled outside of where I painted it, so I literally just filled the designs in with a paintbrush. I think it was the better choice over paint because it barely changed the texture of the fabric at all.
The flowers were all hand embroidered, and the little circle in the center were just drawn on with a sharpie.
I had some trouble keeping the embroidery flat and smooth because it was such a large area, so I sprayed it with some hairspray and now they stay perfectly in place.
Ignore the ashtray in the background. It's my grandmother's >.

Thank you I worked really hard. The kimono is all done, I just have to upload the pictures, but I'm not sure if coscom will let me, because I'm not the one wearing the costume.
