Painting the Silver Armour - Round 1
Using a scouring pad, each piece of armour was scuffed and scratched in a direction that simulated the "brushed" look of Iron Man's armour, while also giving the paint a better surface to stick to.
With the help of my family, I laid out and taped down each piece of armour on newsprint (which I later learned should have been plastic, or something that doesn't permanently adhere to a painted surface...), and then sprayed a coat of Adhesion Promoter to give the paint an even better chance of not chipping off.
I sprayed about 4 coats onto the red and silver pieces, ensuring the over spray from each didn't drift onto each other. (It did however drift under the plastic laid on the floor, and onto a hundred secondary-school student's clay sculptures... sorry Mr. Crawford! Thankfully, the pieces still needed to be fired, and he wasn't at all upset.)
