This is my Spring of 1945 WWII German Army impression. The war has already been lost, but the surrender hasn't occured yet so troops are still fighting and many scrambling to surrender to the Americans rather than the Russians. Those who surrendered to the Russians were normaly never seen again).

Note the lack of the stereotypical high "Jackboot" and instead undyed low boots with canvas gaiters. Plus the use of a tent quarter piece being worn for camoflauge. A soldier's tent was the most common form of Camo worn during the war by the average German soldier.
