Sooo, this costume started off as a joke after I wore Eileen last year at Otakon. My boyfriend thought it would be funny if I made it, and since I already had the wig I figured why not. Of course I chickened out wearing it at Otakon because of the design in the back (and I did not sacrifice accuracy for modesty), but luckily the SH cosplayers found me anyway! Thanks to DeviousTofu a bunch of us got together for some pictures at a hotel during Otakon. Avianna, Gatsby, CatW1ngs (deviantart name), Devious Tofu, my bf, gangsterlovin (deviantart name) had a grand old time taking pictures and reminiscing about everything from the pickaxe of despair to the hillarious sfx that the Sniffer dogs make. They really made this costume a worthwhile endeavor for me, so I owe them for giving me the inspiration to finish it, as well as producing some great pictures to show off my efforts :)
Pictures with the name Gatsby on them are thanks to:
Huge thanks to him for his enormous patience!!!!

Huge thanks to her for her comic relief and covering my ass (literally) at the hotel. So much love Avi!
Looking baller as always, thanks to her for setting the meeting up!
Thanks to her for both making an awesomely menacing Walter and then for making us laugh 30 seconds later!
Thanks to him for his enormous patience :)!
TY to my bf for his patience too...he always waited so patiently while I got in/out of costume and never minded getting some shots of me.
(I did forget to put my garter on in these shots sadly!)
I made my costume entirely from scratch (no pattern), except for the boots which were covered and the heels thickened & the opera gloves which were bought & had trim added. I dyed the Richard shirt the proper blue-ish gray and hand added all the stripes on myself. There should be 17 on each part of the front, 30 on the back bottom, 5 on each cuff, 5 on the collar and about 34 on each sleeve. Of course I decided to leave this until 2 days before Otakon (like a moron) so I don't have quite as many stripes on the shirt. I'm sad that I didn't have time to put on the accurate number of them!
I made/painted the tie, dyed the pants more brown, made the belt from scratch and painted the shoes/heels. The ammo bag is also made entirely from scratch. It has an embroidery board skeleton and is covered with vinyl that has been sponged to appear more red than tan.
Gangsterlovin made his revolver prop and the speed loader for the ammo bag himself. I styled his hair by slicking it back and adding some gray spray.

I love this! And how do I put it nicely... I love how you manage to make this costume and wear this, WITHOUT looking like a slut.
How do I explain.. it looks weird to see you wearing that, because - just like Eileen - you still have this whole NICE GIRL vibe to you. I love, love, love this!

^^!!! Thank you so much. I'm really glad to hear it! It was definitely awkward getting shots of it because of the nature of the costume, but I'm glad I kept that girl next door vibe visible in pictures. I was definitely careful not to make any weird faces, just neutral smiles like Eileen.

Also have to say I am happy that you go crazy with the accuracy of the lines on the shirt, etc. I often do that too. It's kind of close to insane, but I just want things done as close as I can get them.
