Final Fantasy X: Aeon Valefor's Wing~

Here's some progress on the work I've been doing the last 3 days~

Had a few issues, and pattern dilemmas. A lot of tedious work, and currently hand-sewing the top purple arm to the wingspan. Very happy with everything except the outer-most flap hangs limp when stretched because the wire sits a few inches just inside the border. Might not have enough time to fix before Anime North, but I'll test it out a few times first~

There is a wooden dowel along the forearm for support, and wire covered in foam in the bone structure of the wings. I used several layers of fabric, to give it a thicker & slightly puffed effect, and cotton so it wrinkles like crazy, need to make more wrinkles! XD The edge is double stitched, and trimmed to slightly fray as a rough edge. I didn't like the idea of having a pristine bird/dragon costume... so these little details portray those purposeful defects.

I still have to add the bottom purple detailing, but that'll be added at another date when I find out how much fabric I have left to work with. Otherwise, the wings are finished & ready to paint! :)
