Gurthalak, Voice of the Deeps - World of Warcraft -

Step 5 in my process of making Gurthalak (sword prop). This is the final carved form of the sword and is ready to be covered in masking tape and plaster coat. The sword is a little over 5ft. long, almost 2ft. wide, and weighs quite a bit already...hope it doesn't get too heavy when finished. :(

Usually after I carve and wrap it in masking/painters tape, I'll put a layer of newspaper strips on it with wallpaper glue...but I got lazy with this one (and that fact that it's super large) so I'm directly putting the plaster on top of the tape. It takes a while to fully dry, but its pretty sturdy
