This is the completed skirt for my Party Pirate Pinkie Pie. It is a full circle skirt, with 40 ft of ruffles around the bottom. Ruffles are easy once you get the hang of it, but still a pain in my shiny pink bum.
There are twelve little pink bows with blue and yellow buttons just above the ruffle, each button is different from the others, since I thought that was a nice little bit of appropriate randomness.
The only thing I really messed up on this was the final step - stitching the waist band onto the finished skirt. I did it inside out, so the seam was on the outside waist, not inside. And I used too tiny of a stitch to put it on, making seam ripping impossible (trust me, I tried for an hour). -_-;; That's what that round of pink around the top is - double fold bias tape encasing the misplaced seam. It doesn't look too bad, and should make it so that I can wear the skirt without a bodice over it if I want, with a bit of interesting bits at the top. I may add more ribbons up there eventually, but for now, this is the final product. Woo.
