The Final Note
Jinyo
Here is the finished product, more or less. The main thing is that I modified the pants I had by slimming the pant legs (by about 2 1/2 inches at the knee). Also, the waist of the pants looked a little high to me, so I lowered the waist as well as all the belt loops, then moved the button-fly to make the pants fit a little better around the hips. Finally, I added the crease down the front, like the one Raito (Light) has on the first Death Note cover.
On the jacket all I did was remove a couple of buttons and paint the remaining buttons black. I may, at some point, replace them with black buttons, since when you're up close, they look obviously painted. But whatever. It's not as if the rest of the costume is picture-perfect, and was never intended to be much more than a "ghetto cosplay" anyway, so there's no point in stressing over it.
And of course, that's my new tie. After I showed it the remains of its predecessor, it was a lot more cooperative. Seen here in a half-Windsor.
You can compare this picture with the one I posted exactly one month ago: http://images.cosplay.com/showphoto.php?photo=299827
It's the same jacket, shirt, and pants prior to tailoring. Dramatically different lighting, of course.
