Note: The photo makes these earrings look a bit more bold in color than they really are. They're actually more of a sky blue than a bright cyan.
Anyway, that said, I just finished Orochimaru's magatama earrings last Thursday.
They're actually a copper metal base, with several coats of enamel on both sides. So, with all the firing that had to be done, they took a LONG TIME to make (mostly because I'm so insanely anal). You can see a thin line of copper metal at most of the edges; I was worried about that clashing or throwing off the look, but once they were done, I actually kinda liked the faint accent it gave them.
The shafts that the magatama hang from are made of brass. Fine manual twisting and a lot of care involved.
They're clip-ons, considering my ears aren't pierced. They wear pretty well though, once I loosened the clips so that they wouldn't turn my earlobes purple anymore.
I'm really pleased with how these came out, and I think the natural look works well. I love magatama, both the shape and the mythology/symbolism behind them.

That little silliness out of the way - those are rad. Radtacular, even. Go analness! Wish I could work in metal.
