Here is the costume that I spent the last several weeks making prior to Otakuthon. I wanted a summer appropriate costume for Otakuthon and for the Toronto Cosplay Picnic and I've had Bulma on my list of characters to Cosplay for years. I just couldn't decide what outfit of hers to make. I finally settled on this outfit because I liked her hairstyle and pink and it seemed like a quick project. It took longer than expected, but turned out really nicely. :3
I think the blue pouch and the shoes are what I'm most proud of. I tried to make shoe covers, but the covers restricted the stretch of the shoes so they wouldn't fit so I painted them instead and used fabric to fake the velcro closures. I had to axe an old costume to get fabric for the pouch. I feel a bit bad, but from the ashes of the old, new things rise! XD
The wig is a Jeannie from Arda minus the clip extension. Pan braided the basic ponytail that comes styled into the wig and she also trimmed my bangs. I like how it turned out. It's not 100% accurate to her style, but it looks cute. (^^) Pan also made and lent me the brown glove (it was originally from her Van costume).
I like making simple costumes like this. It was fairly easy to make and it's pretty comfy. It's nice to work on something in which the end is always in sight and it's a nostalgic costume to boot. I really liked Bulma growing up as DBZ was an awesome series to watch so I had a lot of fun with this costume.
