I hope this turned out well! While I was making this, the hairpin had a mind of its own and turned out a little differently than I planned.
Women in the Heian era of Japan wore their hair long and unadorned due to sumptuary laws. However, Tanemura-sensei drew Sakura with gorgeous hairpins featuring flowers and ribbons. I took advantage of this and had a blast making this hairpin.
I was happy to use the hair jewels to resemble moonbeams since Sakura is a descendant of Kaguya Hime from the moon!
