The hiogi fan is painted at last. I used reference images of traditional hiogi fans and the fan illustrations used in the manga.

Traditionally, the fan would have a painted nature scene with stylized clouds, complete with multicolored tassels and silk balls of flowers at the ends.

I'm pleased with the sakura blossom branch having the three elements of traditional ikebana flower arranging: heaven, earth, and man.

I like the sponging effect of the silver and white paint. The bottom of the fan was the most challenging portion to paint!
