Showing more historically accurate ties

Showing more historically accurate ties - Disney Brave - Merida
I remembered this dress from the ever after film. It has the same sort of Merida dress. This shows how the arm gauntlets would of been tied in real life, not how disney have drawn them. I like to be true to the character, but I also like to have it look authentic. This is how the arm bands were tied in those days and not attatched with strips of fabric.

So, I'm not the only one who recognized this? I remember when Brave first came out..
Everyone was saying - "Oh, her design is so cute..."
I was saying - "Her design was stolen!"

And the strips of fabric bug me too >.< Lol
Great job so far, btw!

Thank you so much, I don't know about it being stolen, but I have gathered a lot of knowledge over the years about how things looked, I'm not expert but I have Two very good books by Jean Hunisette who worked for the BBC television costume department, they are invaluable and have accurate patterns and goes into great detail about how each garment looked in each century and what was used a a base for woman's dress's.
Please check out my making of on youtube under name Traybuff. Look out for more photos coming soon later this weekend.
