For those who didn't get to read my journal, here's my new project for Anime North this year~ (Which is in less than two months... yay?)
I had to figure out a cosplay in that short time, that was dirt cheap to make, and something I could rush, and still do decently well. The first time I saw Hero's Shade, I wasn't quite sure what to make of him. I actually thought he was an enemy, since he jumps at your face... If this is his soul's manifestation of his regret, what a grueling emotion he must have. Still, through the course of the game, you learn more about him, and that even in death, he will stay to get the job done. Hyrule Historia shined some light on exactly which Link he was (Ocarina of Time!), which makes me have so many more questions on that gap in between, and his eye...
I've been eyeing this cosplay for a while, and initially wanted to make it for Costume-Con in 2014 which was about Monsters, Myths & Legends. However, budget isn't so kind so there's a high chance I won't be able to make it. With sudden changes recently with cosplay buddies, this seemed like a perfect chance to get him done. :)
I love the grim side to the Legend of Zelda series, how not everything is perfect, and that you don't always win or have happy endings. With every battle, there is bloodshed & pain, this is my homage to that, and to an awesome character who deserves more love!
