- Pokémon Colosseum - Trainer Wes
Here is the first picture of my Wes-cosplay. :)

Cosplayer: me (Maakie)

When I was around 12 years old my parents let me buy my first gaming console. I choose the GameCube.

As a 12-year old, I had not much money, so for many years I only owned 2 GameCube games: Pokémon Colosseum and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. Both of them I could play for hours in a row and enjoyed very much! It is a part of my early teens I love looking back on. :)

I also always enjoyed how Wes looked, but was very afraid of cosplaying him, mainly because of the make-up (had to make a darker skin colour and white face paint).

Now, after almost 6 years of cosplaying, I thought I was finally good enough to try and cosplay Wes.

I really like how it turned out and I hope other people like it too! \^o^/

Holy cow, that's awesome. There definitely aren't enough Wes cosplays, and it's especially a treat seeing one so well-done!

Interesting fabric choice for the cloak - I would have expected something a bit more leathery, but this has a neat anime feel to it. The Snag Machine is also kind of hard to see from that angle, though it would be cool if it extended a bit further over your hand and ended in more of a point. Otherwise, this is a really badass costume - especially loving the goggles and makeup job - how did you get such a perfect, straight white line across the face like that?

Once again, great job!

Hello Psychic! Thank you for your kind comment! ^^

I completely agree that there aren't enough Wes cosplayers, haha! I have looked around a lot and found next to me only 2 other people cosplaying him. I think it's mainly because the costume and make-up is quite hard to do...and of course the game is quite "old" already.

Hmm, very interesting you start about the costume being leather, I never envisioned it that way! But maybe that's also because I started with the shoes for this costume first, which are very big, black army boots with spikes: http://www.cosplay.com/photo/3361298/

About the snag machine...yes, it should have been a bit bigger, probably. But it's already very annoying to walk around with, so for the eh...comfort, I think this is the better choice! xD I hope I can upload a picture soon in which you can see the Snag Machine a bit better, I am currently waiting for pictures from a few photographers from my most recent con!

The goggles were made by a friend, she used foam and then spraypainted it silver. Quite simple actually!

And I'm really happy you started about the make-up job, since I have put so much makeup tests and time in it! xD I made the straight line for this make-up version by using a flat end brush, they look like this: http://www.sweetscents.com/brushes/c211%20takalon%20camoflage%203%208%20inch%20flat%20end.png They can be easily found in dollar stores.

Before that I used a normal paint brush, wich also works quite well if you have a steady hand, but it's way harder and takes more time.

Be sure to let the paint dry very well and make a few layers of white on top of each other, because otherwise you will see your skin colour coming from underneath it!
