Oops, almost forgot the important text on his gauntlets, so finished that hastily this morning~
This isn't the glyphs on his concept artwork or in-game, I couldn't find any reference pictures at all except small portions of it. So, I took matter into my own hands, and wrote the same phrase on each, can you guess what it says? I used Twilight Princess's font as a reference guide, and did it by hand rather than stenciling (too much time...).
What's a costume without some sneaky easter egg fun? I actually do little things like this on all my costumes, and people that can point them out in person rank high on my awesome list for knowing the series well, haha. I love making costumes with complexity, easy to recognize for general fans, details for the critics, and hidden secrets for the geeks like me.
Here's a close-up also of the texture that I mentioned before. It has a gritty feel, but that'll be accentuated when I weather it with moss. The weathering will be a 3 step process, that I'll post pictures of each step. They'll include darken areas, textured elements and finally highlighted edges of wear & tear. The base is matte, however all the red designs are slightly metallic (I mixed red, brown and metallic gold paints to get the colour above). Everything is base painted at this point, so the rest will be added upon this colour pallet.

All your progress photos look amazing. I really hope I'm able to see your costume in person at AN!
