I've never even heard of Puff Paint before I saw your costume, but looking into it , that's pretty sweet. When I think "paint" I get the image that if something is bumped against it, that it will chip off. I'm going to have to get some and "experiment" with it. I never knew of all these many different materials out there to use until I got interested in Cos'ing.
So, all the gold detailing, that is painted on? I thought it was gold metal design pieces you glued on. Thats great. You really do a good detailed paint job. I cannot paint worth a damn. It looks like it is raised in some places like on the shoulder armor.. How do you keep the design from coming off?

Yes, there is a slight bit of texture to the paint..it was a custom blend of gold puffy paint and black fabric paint that I dabbed on with a toothpick. The advantage was that I could control the amount of paint coming out, the disadvantage was that it was tedious as anything.
The armor's made of a variety of stuff.. the chest and arms are Mod Podge, newspaper, cardboard, reptile-print vinyl, glass flat marbles and gold puffy paint. The black and white detailing is black bias binding, the white pattern hand painted with jacquard paint. There's a couple of flat shell pieces that are included as well...one on the round chest panel, and one for the hat brooch.
The shoulder armor is cast polyurethene resin pieces, attached together with Gapoxio in some places, and pleather strips in others. The spikes are Gapoxio over clay, and like the chest armor, it's decorated with flat marbles and gold paint. Ohyeah, there's also glass beads and human hair tassles
that's some serious armour man! Way to go!! Pat yourself on the back! just WOW!
I absolutely <3 this costume. I must must must MUST see it in person some time so I can act like a stupid fangirl and squee over it. You did an amazing job!
