Before and after pics of my Terra shoes. I’m making a formal version based on the Amano and FMV versions so I opted for dress shoes rather than boots. I got a nice pair of velvet shoes on clearance, removed the bows, and carefully applied a few coats of fabric paint to the raised patterns in the velvet. The trim was created by threading a ¼ inch velvet ribbon through the edge of a lacy gold trim and then glued along the top of the shoe.

The painting took a long time since I needed 3 coats to get the color even (The velvet soaked up most of the first coat.) and didn’t want to accidentally paint the unpatterned areas. But I’m pleased with the results and very happy that I was able to put these together for only about $20. ^_^
