Gown from c1560 Cleves/Cologne. Similar to Anne of Cleves dress, but 20 years later with the more fitted style.

Funnily enough the painting is Portait of a Lady with an Ermine. An ermine is part of my SCA heraldry and I hope to one day make that costume and have a photo taken with my cat, who is about as muscled as the "ermine."

The portraits that inspired this gown though were by a painter called Barthyl Bruyn, and he did also paint a portrait of Anne of cleves. Or at least his workshop did.

This Reminds me of DaVinci's painting of the girl and the ferret. Can't think of the name right now but it looks stunning!!
