Okay, so I've been saying for ... well ... years now that I would make a female High Wizard from RO. I tried to get it done for CN this year ... and I failed. But I managed to get the cloak done before I gave up on it the Friday night of the con.

It looks weird and stiff in these pictures (and also very yellow and grainy, but that's what happens when I use a camera phone without turning on the flash ... stupid me) but hopefully it'll look better on an actual person instead of a limbless torso. At least I hope so ... mind you, I'm starting to think this costume won't look very flattering on me, but I've already come this far.

As for my usual materials and construction notes, the fur is a pale creamy yellow that is actually rather cheap and see through (but I loved the colour over the white fur I had originally purchased) so most of it has a layer of white cotton I had lying around so it looks more opaque. The brown is nice faux suede, and the collar is stands up because of 2 or 3 layers of interfacing (I forget how many ...) and 5 pieces of ridgeline. The pattern is mostly spliced together from 2 different cloak patterns, plus a reasonable amount of free handing (for the life of me I couldn't get the right shape for the collar. That part was all Amy_the_Yu while I kept looking at it like o_O).

Now to finish the dress ...
