Orange, Man-eating Ball of Fluff XD

Orange, Man-eating Ball of Fluff XD
LadyoftheThread
New prop to go with my Count D costumes: a totetsu plushie! ^_^ T-Chan’s coloration varies in the covers and I decided to use the orange and yellow version from the back cover of Volume 6.

This plushie was challenging to make since I hadn’t been able to find shaggy orange fur by the yard and ended up piecing it together from the little 9”x12” panels sold in some crafts stores. (Figures that right after I went back to buy a couple more panels to finish it up, I finally found a fabric store which did have a bolt of the stuff! -_-X)

I made the pattern up as I went along and I think it came out pretty well although the face is a bit wrinkly. The face was definitely the hardest part to make because of the shape and details. I thought it would be fun to have a mouth that could open with lots of pointy teeth, which made things more difficult. (Yes, the inside of the mouth is pink. I gave him little orange eyebrows, too!) It also didn’t help that my sewing machine wouldn’t sew the sueded fabric I used for the face; I don’t know why but it kept skipping stitches on that stuff despite being able to sew the heavy fur. So, the face was mostly sewn by hand.

The horns, which are my favorite part, were machine quilted using some yellow scraps left from a previous costume. I made each horn in two pieces and then sewed the pieces together and stuffed them.

This prop will probably be annoying to haul to cons because of size (it’s large enough to cover my lap) but it should be lots of fun to have a man-eating goat to carry around with my D outfits! *laugh*
