Final Fantasy 7: Cloud Strife at Fanime 2010

I did a candid photo of cosplayer James two years prior at Anime Expo. This was my first photo shoot working with him. It was a pleasure, with his endurance to try some challenging poses.

You may recognize cosplayer James, who adorned the cover of Ejen Chuang's cosplay photography book, "Cosplay in America" as Cloud Strife. Fanime 2010 San Jose, California

Cosplayer James had quite a challenge for this action pose. As he leaped, he had to swing his huge sword toward the camera, so it would look larger at the tip, and not go out of frame. It took about 10 tries to get this. Thank you James, for your persistence! Fnime 2010 San Jose, California

Final Fantasy 7 : Cloud Low Stance

Cosplayer James got into a low stance, holding his relatively light, Balsa Wood sword, but it was a bit heavy for this pose. I had to shoot one quick shot after helping him angle the sword just right. Then he had to rest between each attempt. Even my none-jumping shots can be grueling! Fanime 2010 San Jose, California

Cosplayer James endulges me in my on-going photo series, by letting me jump-kick at him. My cosplay photographer friend Daniel took this photo for me. Thanks Daniel! You can see more of my "When Photographers Attack" photos throughout my gallery. Fanime 2010 San Jose, California
