The US-FDA would rather control and give its stamp of approval to brands manufactured within the country and select Western European nations. Honestly if you're looking at an Asian brand of lenses and are unsure about them, it'd be wise/easy/safe to contact the eye doctor's office and get a professional opinion on that particular brand. I'll see if I can dig up a list of Korean and Japanese FDA approved lenses for reference.
