As a Pacific-Asian media event, the PMX masquerade is much more inclusive than the typical anime con. In addition to the typical "anime and Japanese video games" costumes, people sometimes enter with stuff like J-rock costumes, original themed lolita outfits, K-pop, Avatar: the Last Airbender, and so on.
