How important could cheeks be?

OK, we all know that most people lose their baby fat in their faces and cheekbones start becoming more prominent when they become older, so this uses to help calcuating your age, of course some people lose it earlier or later than others.

Do you consider this an obstacle for cosplaying characters who are younger than you?

I'm working on cosplaying a character of mine who is 14, and I'm 27, but people say I look 19 and I still preserve some chubbyness in my face, so I guess it won't be a very big problem for me at the moment, but I'm sometimes wondering if I'll can still do it if my face becomes fully formed.
