I grew up on Disney, during the Disney Renaissance... biggest three for me would be Mulan, Pocahontas and The Lion King. I think they're obviously popular enough to not need explaining why I loved them so much.:P And on the plus side, Mulan got me interested in Asian culture, and Pocahontas into Native American culture (and having a stepdad at the time who had grown up in the Yukon with a lot of native friends/associates made me the envy of the neighborhood during the Pocahontas craze. I had a little wigwam in my backyard to play in, feathers out the wazzoo for headdresses plus beaded headbands, and a bunch of craft items like handmade moccasins and dreamcatchers... plus all the Disney merchandise.)
