Hi, Glenn! Welcome to San Diego. I've been living in the area for most of my life and I promise you'll love it.

If you want to get involved with other cosplayers there's a facebook group http://www.facebook.com/groups/327947021116/ It's called the San Diego Cosplay Association. I just joined a short while ago and everyone there is very welcoming and fun.

There's also Anime Los Angeles that's happening in January if you want to start meeting people.
