There is NOTHING wrong with cosplaying, HOWEVER, I advise not advertising that you do at work. Someone in the hierarchy of your workplace may find you immature, thus unsuitable for employment and possibly give you a hard time/ask you to quit. Of course that does not always happen! It only when you have a stuck up boss who is a loser. I just don't find it professional to air out your hobbies that are deemed "against the social norm" because it may hurt future employment. I go for the "don't ask don't tell".
With that said, I really don't recommend taking inappropriate/risque cosplay pictures in the possibility that a future employer may find it. Porn stars do have problems finding regular office jobs b/c of this. I realize that cosplay is not porn, but I hope you understand what I am saying.
Just remember that some employers now search people on FB/twitter to see if a person is responsible in their "personal" lives. I do not agree with this, but that is another topic.
Pretty much just be mindful with what you wear and what pictures you advertise on the Internet. I'm all for doing what you want, but just be mindful that any inappropriate pictures/cosplay MAY harm you later. Again, only a maybe and this is all situational!! It does not mean that it will happen to you.
