I used the wire method, implanting it in some heavily glued fiber. I used pretty thin wire, and its held up even though I've put it on and removed it from the wig a few times now. For transport I just removed it from the wig and sandwiched it between two pieces of cardboard to keep it flat.
I also referenced how they did the yellow parts in this wig, to get the sharp angle of Pikos ahoge
