Oh yes, I've sewn a jacket before, I made my Hinata jacket, but I didn't use a pattern for that.

Also I'm not unfamiliar with patterns, I've used them before with a lot of help from my grandmother. She taught me a lot, but since this is for a somewhat important cosplay, I don't think it's a good idea to try to tackle a complicated one if possible. Especially since I had to move away, so it would be difficult to get help from her at this point.

Sorry that I wasn't clear on that. What I would like is a couple of examples of specific patterns that I could look into since there are many many more experienced seamstresses here than me. XD But I'll browse out Simplicity's patterns, too!
