I know lowes has that plastidip stuff. I saw it next to the spray paint. I have always kept that in mind for any future costumes i may need it for. It looks like you just heat it up untill is liquid, dip in what you want to cover, and pull it out and let it cool and it will be like a soft hardened rubber. If you go to lowes.com and search "Dip Coating" it shows the options. They have several colors. You might have to put some kind of ridgid surface or somethign on first for the rubber to stick on to and stay on.
