I agree, however I would use a good fusable interfacing rather than craft foam if you are looking for it to hold up for a while. Craft foam does break down and become brittle in a very short time. If you are going to do the work you might as well make it to last right?
(I only know about the craft foam breaking down due to the fact that I have kids and their 'foamy" projects do not last a terribly long time.
