Timeline (how long your order took to process): I paid her beginning of May, didn't receive the costume until end of July

Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments:

I found Miranda through the cosplay commissioner tag on Tumblr she was one of only 2 commissioners to actually respond to my email. She was sweet and answered right away with a quote. She stated she can comfortably do my costume for $500. I agreed and paid her in full. (I realized this was a mistake now)

She responded promptly, stating she would get started right away.

One month goes by, I have not heard a single word from her, so I email her to question the progress on my costume. She responded right away, stating that I will get pictures once she has started it. She apparently does “rush” commissions and others, and told me that she had other commissions in the quewe before my own. I was starting to feel skeptical at this point.

Towards the end of June, I emailed her again to ask about the status, she responded saying I will get pictures of my costume after the weekend, as she was out of town for Anime Expo. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and let it go. The weekend went by and I never received any pictures.

Finally a week before the due date I requested to have the costume by, I emailed her yet again to check on the progress and voice my concern that the due date is approaching. She emails me back few days later saying, I will get my costume.

Few days later, she FINALLY sends pictures of the costume (which really didn't look great, but I thought it just could be the picture quality). I get the package and open it up to be horrified. The costume was No where near the quality I expected it to be, specially paying $500 for it. The pants didn't fit, the vest was WAY too big, she hot glued nearly everything together ( there were hot glue strands all over the costume) the material looked and felt cheap, the designs on the back were a complete mess and not even close to looking like the reference pictures. It wasn't even lined, so strands from the cut fabrics were hanging all over, didn't have enough material for the sash, but used it anyway. The actual sewing, was just..I don't even, it was just a complete mess. I couldn't use the costume, I didn't realize how horrible the job was, until a friend and I decided to take apart the costume to use it a basic template.

I had to remake the entire costume, MYSELF, 3 days before the con as I was so determined to be this character. I gave her nearly 3 months to complete this costume and this is what I got in the end.

I emailed her voicing my disappointment, and I never received an email back. She was actually at the convention I had planned to wear it at. I confronted her about it, she claims that she never received the email. She said she did work really hard on it, which I fail to see that. She told me she would give me a full refund. I emailed her concerning what she said, and she said she would do so once her funds are together. I have now emailed her twice concerning my refund and have yet to receive a reply.

Pros: Quick response (most of the time)
Cons: EVERYTHING ELSE

Final Grade: F
