As a local, this is going to be an uphill battle. It's not on the radar with the City due to the recent Mayoral scandal and now the focus is electing a replacement. Whoever is the next mayor may or may not even look into this. Also it falls on the Coastal Comission, which is notorious for putting projects in the back seat and expanding the Convention Center is one of them. Lastly, the Chargers are also vying for a downtown Stadium next to Petco which could hinder any possibility of expanding the Convention center. I will definitely try to make to one of the hearings just to see how things go down.
