If you plan on wearing this to a con- don't make it shoot, most cons don't allow that.

That said, you really need to make moving parts do their moving part thing before building the rest (visual) part of any given prop. This is kind of backwards.

I would go toy shopping, then build a second (video, photo shoot, non-con) shooting mechanism and leave your completed but non-functioning one whole as it is now.
