Falcon: most folks I know who do a lot of embroidery on their own machines have a separate machine for heavy duty work. Embroidery machines need to be delicate and precise, but a lot of costuming needs heavy duty machines. Trying to do the heavy duty construction on an embroidery capable machine shortens the life of the embroidery functions. Sorta like owning a sports car for your daily commute, but needing a truck for weekend landscaping work. Sure you can pile a lot of bricks into a little convertible, but it will do harm in the long run and be less efficient than having a truck bed to fill and make less trips.
Nothing is impossible, but some things are very expensive. Instagram: penlowe
My Etsy shop: I make non-fitted custom things to ship within the continental US. I only do fitted garments for those whom I can meet in person.
