Wow, I asked Chico for a quote on my Edea costume. She said it would cost atleast $350 and said s&h would be $60. It sounded fair to me considering I wanted the dress, crown, and backpiece... but then I read through this thread. I would have been highly pissed if she had sent me something crappy (or nothing at all) for $400+.

So yeah, she still reads her emails otherwise she wouldn't have replied to my message.

Miyori's right. Contact a collection agency and let them hassle her.

The first one has recieved 28 negatives in the past year and 47 neutral. STAY AWAY. I don't know what to tell you about the second, they probably stole thier images from the same source and slapped them into a picture with thier logo on it. As for the awkward feedback...its self created, with the help of other asian sellers. Its part of the ebay scams they warn you to avoid....just be wary.

That first one also has a bunch of feedback withdrawn - it's always worth paging through the feedback to see when that happens, since that was originally a negative that isn't showing up on the stats.

As for the second one... ah yes, lolitababy. They've turned up around here before, blatantly using images stolen from commercial catalogs (I'll let the folks at Heavy Red know they're still at it). Beyond that, the same observations I have with almost all of those bulk ebay sellers: they're probably not showing you costumes they've made, the person doing the selling probably isn't the one who will be making your costume, they probably aren't costumers themselves and aren't overly concerned about details; and while none of this means that they can't make you the costume you want, you have no guarantee that they can, either. In addition, the feedback on that one looks HIGHLY suspect.

Wow, Chico needs to be slapped around a few times. No one should do that. Would you believe she even sells art on deviantart? I posted on her main page on deviant for all too see. Hopefully people will stay away.

Okay wait, so she is still taking commissions even though her site is down? That's stupid. We should make a bug sign that says "READ THIS TOPIC BEFORE ORDERING FROM ANYONE" in huge bold letters XD
I am keeping at her, and my dad is going to email her again to make sure that she sends the check by the 10th of this month like she said. If not, I am going to make a trip to Florida no matter what it takes XD

I really wish the spam forum was searchable....it would be really nice if you could put in a commissioners name and look to see if they've been talked about good/bad without trying to skim 50 pages of this thread...

I ordered one of her Chii dresses last year. It fit well, came in 2 weeks and was beautiful. My only complaint was that it was all satin, but usually it didn't come out looking too bad in pictures.

I was wondering the same thing. They look consistant...but I want someone who knows firsthand since it'll be $300-ish I don't feel like losing~ :]
