Contacted and paid in November of 2006 with a deadline of April 1st. Was in contact a few times between then. I contacted her the day before the deadline and was told that it would not be complete. Asked if she could complete it by mid June, but was informed that she could not.

Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments.
This is a very crappy situation for both myself and the commissioner and I was hesitant to even leave a review, but feel that others should know about my experience. I contacted her in November and worked out all the details. After a few months, I contacted her again for an update and she told me that she had gotten into a bad car accident and was still finishing up some other props. I asked if she would still be able to do my prop and was reassured that she could meet my deadline. Apparently, about 2 weeks or so before the deadline of my item, there was a fire in her apartment complex which caused a bunch of water/smoke damage to her apartment, including to the materials she was going to use to make my item. Now, I'm a pretty understanding person, but was a bit upset that she didn't tell me any of this until the day before I should have received my item and that she hadn't even started construction on it even though the due date was so close. I was also the one that had to contact her to get this info, when I feel it would have been courteous for her to give me a heads up. Given that there was no way I'd have the prop before the con I needed it for, I asked if she could complete it if I gave her an extension till June, but she said she couldn't as she can't afford to rebuy the stuff to make it in enough time to finish it. She did offer to send my some anime/video games/wigs in order to make up for the whole mess and has been very nice about everything. However, I don't really need any of the things she offered and did request a refund. She agreed that I deserved a refund, but doesn't have any money to pay me back with. So basically, I'm stuck waiting around until she's able to pay me back. (though if she doesn't - I know that I can get it back through my credit card company, I would just prefer not to exercise that option). Just a really crappy experience all around, both for me and for her.

Final Grade: really hard to give a grade for this given the circumstances, but as I didn't get my item and found out I wouldn't get it the day before it was supposed to arrive when in reality she could have given me more notice, D

Everything was so crazy from the fire I couldn't get back to you till so much later. I think your being a bit unfair to say I could have responded sooner. I couldn't! I didn't even have a place to live! The house's roof was going to collapse and I wasn't allowed to stay there so I was staying at family and friends houses. I wasn't really thinking about due dates and whatnot. I lost so much stuff...photo albums my art works...clothing. There was only a tiny bit left. I think its kind of unfair to even review me as this situation is just so horrible! I've done commissions before that went perfectly. btw

I know you deserve to be paid back, as I told you before. So there is no reason to go giving me a bad review. Its not like I did it on purpose I did the best I could given the situation. I contacted you when I could. I think a lot of people in my situation wouldn't even have got back to you at all...because really, their screwed. >_< I'm trying on this end. I really am! I'm trying to sell what is left to pay you back, trying to win contests.
I had another commissioner along with you that just let it go, which is the sweetest thing ever. I'm actually trying to force her into taking some anime or something lol.

Again, I'm sorry...I'm really REALLY sorry and I'm doing the best that I possibly can on my end.
I wish you would have just kept this between us...no reason to give me a bad review when I'm trying so hard to get everything back together.

Although it's a bad experience I think it's good to keep both sides up. In the end that is what this thread is about. To find out about a commissioners past experiences, good or bad.

Pros: She's a very nice person. When I emailed her she would always respond within 24 hours, if not sooner. She even made the flowers Yuna holds for me too and threw in a pair of free white gloves that I'll be using for my costume. I would and probably will for sure go back to her. She is a lovely and wonderful person and it was a pleasure doing business with her =]
Cons: none.

Pros: She's a super-awesome fun person to talk too. Since I lived about an hour away from her she invited me to come to her house to try on the dress a couple times before she finished it. She was really nice in waiting for me since I got lost on the way to her house twice, and didn't arrive until 4-5 hours after I told her I would be at her house. She always PM'ed me really quick, and she's just a great overall person that I would go back too again!
Cons: none.
Final Grade: A++++++++++

Pros: Another brilliantly constructed commission The details she touched upon are stunning; the symbols on the front and back are both excquisitely accurate, the gloves alone are quite possibly the most amazing cosplay-accessory I own, the material is thick and very, very high quality, everything is simply beautiful. It feels proffessionally made, almost manufactured but at a far higher level, and everything from the proportions to the colors are EXACTLY true to character.
Cons: A few problems this time which I didn't have last time with this commissioner. The dress itself seems almost two sizes too large; the pictures show how it looks with three safety pins holding it together in the back, which is why there are no views from behind, but it's pretty clear the neckline and sleeves are slightly too large. I'm not sure where the misinterpretation here came from since the same measurements from my last order with this commissioner were used, and that one fit perfectly. The hat is also the wrong shape, but fits perfect. The white strip down the back of the dress, according to the reference images, is supposed to go all the way up the length of the back, but the dress I was provided has the blue making an arch over the white--the only detail she missed.
Comments: She has excellent communication, far better than anyone I've ever worked with, and works amazingly fast considering her popularity. I find myself wishing to elaborate on how absolutely excellent the gloves turned out; I could not possibly be happier with them or the dress itself, really, though it would be nice if it was fitted better. This is quite likely an effect of commissioning over the internet rather than in person, however, so hardly the true fault of the commissioner; only so much accuracy can be expected from a dress form. There is no physically possible way to emphasize the quality of this outfit, and I recommend her to anyone and everyone with the utmost confidence.
Final Grade: A

Pros: Amazingly fantastic. I had concern about the color and the size which I shared with her, because there is an official release of this character in plushie form already but even the manufacturer had inaccurate coloring and size. The faux-fur-fabric she chose was stunningly perfect; I cannot emphasize this enough, I did not know such a close relation in color and texture to the actual character existed. Construction-wise, it is absolutely beautiful. Everthing is expertly done, you'd swear THIS was the official release of the bird rather than what is on the website. He's super-soft and she even took pains to weigh the bottom portion with plushie-beads (the rest of him is pure fluff) so he remains upright.
Cons: He loses his shape rather easily, but this is simple to overcome through simple attentiveness; he's like fluffy playdoh!
Comments: I got the impression that I was her first custom-order, and I cannot possibly illustrate how wonderful she was to work with. She kept in constant communication, was professional and at the same time kind and flexible with my concerns; even going back after he was completed a first time to make some changes I asked for! There was NO period of waiting for her responses, and NEVER a time I was uncomfortable or uncertain about working with her. I highly, HIGHLY recommend her to everyone or anyone with a plushie concern, no matter how big or small. She DOES accept custom work, and I know of no one better to trust with plushie commissions.
Final Grade: A+

Timeline (how long your order took to process): I first inquired around early/middle of Feb 2007. It took a while, and finally ordered, paid and signed contract around the last week of Feb 2007. Wig was due May 20th. I have gotten nothing yet. And May 25th is the date of the con I was supposed to wear this wig to.

(The reason why it took so long for me to pay and sign the contract was because she would answer her emails around once a week, and I had to actually ask for her PayPal address so I could pay her as well as the contract.)

Pros: Website was clean, looked professional, even had a contract.

Cons: Deadline missed completely. I do not try and bother my commissioners because I know they have work, college, a life, etc. I did not contact this commissioner until after sending the payment and contract signed back to her. Then on May 12, figuring the time was right to ask for a progress shot. No reply. I emailed once more on the 18th, and again on the 20th, asking civilly if the wig was done, that I request it be airmailed to me as said in the contract when the wig was not done on time or such. I have still received no reply, and I fear I will not be able to wear the wig and costume to the Fanime Con on May 25th. I am still awaiting a reply. I understand that life gets people down, but how long does it take to shoot an email back, especially with a contract?

Communication has been nil since I have paid. I am trying my best to contact her now, but I have received nothing.

Final Grade: D (I may or may not change the grade depending on if/when I get the wig.)

For now this is a tentative review, but I feel it is fair to let others know both good and bad sides of commissioners.

Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments.: Where can I start? This is one of the most professional and nicest person I have done business with in a while. Communication is/was great! When my package came I was in awe. Everything was professionally packaged and sealed. The costume itself is great. Its lined and fits perfectly! The only con I may have is that the hat is wrong but that can be easily fixed.
I reccomend anyone that wants a commission to check out this commissioner!
