I work in Sheffield at weekends, as far as I know there are no events in S.Yorks which is a shame.

I live something like 40 miles to the east, and the only thing I've heard of is a tiny one in Hull!

I think I'm less than an hour from Sheffield. Sheffield's not too far from Leicester and Nottingham where Amecon, Alcon and Fuyucon were located. I'm still getting the lie of the land here too as I just moved, but I'm hopefully visiting an anime club in Derby this week - which also isn't that far from you, but probably not close enough for a regular thing. Hopefully you can find a few people actually in Sheffield - perhaps then you could start your own club ^_^

Im from Manchester which is a 40 minute train ride away from Sheffield. I only really go there for various concerts and EBM club nights. I think the nearest cons would be in Birmingham.

I'm sorta new to cosplay, and I live in Sheffield. As far as I know there are no cons around here. I am traveling to london to go to London expo con though.

Also in my cosplay group at the mo I have a total of 3 member including myself. If any newbies want to join feel free to contact me.

You'll be on about Recon, held at Waterstones.

Its tiny in compairson to stuff like MCM and Alcon, but damn we do good. XD Recon takes over the whole of Waterstones once a year, with compotions and lots of cosplay for the night. We must fit nearly 200 people in the small space and nearly everyone turns up in cosplay from the simple to full fur suits (the last masq winner was a fur suit cosplay from Final Fantasy.)

But yeah, you was properly on about that.

But yeah, I've never heard of anything in your area... Yorkshire in general doesn't have many events itself, so maybe try finding local cosplayers and do something? Its what I've done with my cosplay group a couple of times now.

Yah, the word is that its October 19th this year. Much later then usual, but the people who do host it have become popular over the years that they're going to more places (since this is a company run thing, by Tokyopop) and thus... its getting harder to arrange. But it'll definatly be back. Hopefully they'll run more then one this year though since it's so late... originally it happened twice a year.

Well there is a small event in Doncaster at the Doncaster dome, which isn't too far away from Sheffield, I think...
