Visual kei lolita inspired top hat $5.00

Hello! ^^ i designed my first top hat. and i wanted to get an opinion on what people think..

its a visual kei and lolita inspired top hat. this is my first actual hat going to on sale at acen 08 for $5 I think it is really cool. ^^ i know it;s not a traditional style of hat for lolita but i wanted to be creative.

anywho please let me know what you think...

Really? i was afraid to go that high... i thought that other places selling them for $14 and $20 was way to much.... i was thinking $5-$7 i dunno . i like to keep my price low. ^^ hmm...

I think it's adorable. Just wondering, are you going to make it in other accent colors (the lavender/purple is lovely, but isn't as popular as some other colors)? Anyway, I'd probably price it around $7-$10, but $5 sounds very reasonable. Very cute. Nice job ^_^

If you go with 5, you'll sell out too quickly
Usually I see people selling those black felty ones they buy at the craft store for $1 and just add trim to, which is lazy and disappointing.

Awwww, they're all so cute! I love how you've used different patterns on each hat (the skeletons on the pink one is especially adorable :3) But yeah, I'm sure they'll sell. I've never sold anything at an anime con so I wouldn't really know how many to make, sorry. But I'd assume 30 would be alright (I mean, if you sell out, at least you know to make more next time. And if you don't sell all of them, you can always sell them at another con or online)

you should include the cost of material + the time it took into making each one. i say at least $10 would be fine. i read a book last year about selling crafts and it said that be careful IF you decide to lower the prices. When you do lower the prices, many people will think you'll lower it even more and more till they can buy them really cheap. then you make no profit.

It's a little too busy for my tastes, but from the amount of detail I would say $5 is waaaay too low. For the amount of materials you buy, how many hats can you get out of it? And how much time does crafting each one take? Malicious is right, those are important things to factor in.

I'm sure they'll be big sellers, though, so props to you on that. Consider selling on Etsy or a site like that, too, since it can help develop more of a customer base.

» I think bumping the price up to $10 was a smart idea. Anyways, I LOVE those hats. Are you going to sell any online? I'd definitely buy at least one.
