Exclamation Makeup FAQ - Check Before Posting!

I'll edit this with different topics. Sorry if I'm breaching a code, or something, like if only mods are supposed to do this, but several of Cosplay.com's subforums have this and Makeup needs one.

If you have a question that is not covered here, and you've really searched for the answer, please post it here instead of on the thread that was last posted on sometime when your grandpa was in high school!

In addition, please search this thread before posting questions on it. >.<

I love you.

Seriously, thank you so much.

But try to clean it up so that you can make the links clickable instead of having to post the URLs..?

I actually know this one! =D

There are a couple of options.

Of course, the lip/eye crayons that they sell work, but those aren't usually very dark. If you're looking for more of a dark grey, that's your best bet, but carry it with you, because it does fade.

Next option is black Ben Nye stage makeup. You can paint this on with a brush, or use your finger. I haven't personally tried this method, but I'd assume it's similar to the one above, albeit darker and possibly with more staying power.

My personal favourite is black waterproof liquid eyeliner. You have to be very careful that you don't get it in your mouth, because I don't know if it's toxic, and also you should keep your mouth open and rounded for about thirty seconds or so after applying to let it dry...But it really works wonders. It's pitch black and it stays really well, needing few reapplications. You just paint it on and wallah! Instant pitch-black lips. (There's an example of this under the Crusnik Cain in my gallery For comparison, the dark grey on my eyes is the aforementioned eye/lip crayon).

OMG I love you so much! Not only will this reduce the repetitious threads, but it is also going to be an awesome resource for when I have questions, as well. *bookmarks this*

Thank you for your time and effort in this! You are awesome!

I've been meaning to do this for ages but never got around to it. Thank you soo much!!
I hate teaching people how to search the forum when they ask about Gaara.

Have to add though:
Scars in general get asked about a lot, so it would be good to include that, not only character-specific scars.
Making your face WHITE. I know I have answered that one more than a few times.
Fake blood
Acne

You guys are very welcome. ^_^ Thanks for the compliments!

Well, to make this, I just went through all the threads in here--and there are only three pages of threads, so I think there's been some signifigant pruning going on of repetitive threads. These are all -I- could find, but if you find any on these, post the URL here and I'll be happy to add it to the list.

Couple threads:

Acne
Tattoos
Covering eyebrows 1
Covering eyebrows 2

And I would change out the Gaara thread and try to find a more informative one. (try searching)

All added.

How is it that the search function finds more things than reading all the topics?! >.<

Because the search function searches on old threads, too, whereas the forum just shows threads in the last month. You can change it to show older ones if you like.

Oh, and reminding people not to necro threads if they have questions might be a good idea too.

Hmm.. you might want to add a small note next to each character-specific thread describing what it is so people who aren't familiar with the characters might be able to still find something useful.
e.g.:

Haruno Sakura from Naruto (light feminine makeup)
Lust from FMA (pale, gothic-type makeup)
Captain Barbossa from PotC (aging makeup)

It's a pretty minor thing but it might be useful. Just suggesting.
