Those look cool.

Here's what I was working on today...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...g?t=1198450466

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...g?t=1198450483

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...g?t=1198450504

And as you know, it's based on this...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...g?t=1198450532

And...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...g?t=1198450559

That's the only side I carved. The other side is still smooth. And this is just a very quick sanding job, so it'll get way cleaner and more crisp than this. I chose to laminate some of the pieces for strength, rather than make it out of all one piece.

And I'm seeing now, that I made the blade too short. After looking at it across his back now, I didn't realize it went up past his shoulder on the right. It needs a good six inches added to it. So I think I'll have to cut a good amount of this blade off and scab/sister on a longer one. That's okay though. It'll make the blade stronger to laminate that as well.

Maybe I'll just elongate this one, by adding on a straight section in the middle, rather than cutting a whole new one. That's what I'll do.

Gotta' love a Dremel!

It's poplar and thanks.

I've got a buddy who's trying to convince me to mold off of this when I'm done and sell copies of it. I'm definitely making copies of the little throwing kinfe I made, but I just wanted to make twenty of them for my own needs. I can't see their being a market for these.

eh you never know there's a good number of people here that I'm sure would be willing to pay good money for Altair stuff. It seems like we're a pretty dedicated group.

NICE!

That looks great. Now go make it dirty!

And thanks for the help with the pattern. That makes total sense. I haven't started with the sewing at all yet. I've been concentrating on the more expensive areas for now.

Prota,

Thanks, I'll email you when I get back from Washington tomorrow.

Force, thanks for putting up pics of the pattern, it helps out alot.

Merry Christmas everyone

PS: ive been talking to a number of people and have been thinking of actually opening a prop shop on the internet, I figure I would be in an advantage because while most people run costume shops, alot of people want the props done and not the costume. I'll give everyone more info as it comes along, but I will be definatly making and selling things like the AC gauntlet and leather sash. As well as other props as well.

I'll keep everyone updated as we start building the site.

Oh Yes, I`ll look forward to it.

Ah, So you all had Patterns to go by? If so, i`d love to know how or where it is? XD I`m really not looking forward to sewing but if I can sew Vincent Valentine`s cape, I think I can sew Altair`s cloak. xD Fantastic job, Tsuyosa!!!

Hey Everybody... merry Christmas!

Echo and Gambit.... you're leading the pack IMO with the prop and leather goods.... I guess it's time for me to play catch up huh? ^_^

Prota- to answer your question from your picture comment...
" No... and No.
Concerning the pattern, I made it myself... as you can see it is fairly simple so it wasn't difficult. I've been making my own patterns ever since my first costume (Spiderman). Jack Sparrow is the only costume where I've felt I needed to follow a pre-made pattern.

Considering the experience I've been getting making these costumes... No it wasn't hard at all.... But then again I've been "in practice" for quite a long streak now."

There ya go ^_^. If you didn't see it... the pattern was here..http://images.cosplay.com/showphoto.php?photo=1362230

Well, was the hood hard to make or did you have something to start from? Cause i`m getting bad and good responses for the hood.

I'm not finished with the hood... It started out well and I think i'm still going in the right direction.... however the material I'm using is a bit more "fluffy" than I was anticipating. If i can 'tame' it I should have a solid pattern. T_T
