Marketplace Forum

This forum is for members who would like to talk about buying and selling photo equipment with their fellow cosplay photographers. I've added the forum to see what sort of response it has. If it flops, we'll just remove it.

I'm wondering if it might be helpful for this forum to allow discussion of photo equipment deals? For example, some seller on ebay shows up with a boatload of cheap wireless flash triggers, or a national brick and mortar store has a sale on a particularly good camera or camera accessory... talking about that here. I think that might be pretty cool...

I'm Looking for a starter pro equipment for photography and maybe a little filming. What is the best brand ? High quality and easy to use. <3 Thanks!

"starter" and "pro" are almost mutually exclusive.
"easy to use" is relative; everyone has a different preference when it comes to controls and button layouts.

As for brand, you just about can't go wrong with either Canon or Nikon, simply for the vast quantity of first- and third-party accessories and support, as well as a large market of used and refurb items.

I use Canon, for stills and for video production. My current lineup is a 5D3, 60D, and EOS-M; and a host of additional gear such as lenses, lighting, audio, and related grip gear.

If you're just starting out, depending on your budget I would probably recommend a T3i or T4i. The T3i has a great sensor; it's the same sensor as what's in the 7D and 60D (and T2i and a couple others IIRC), but it has some additional features that make it good for video, such as manual audio control, and digital zoom. The T4i has a marginally better sensor, and adds a (very rudimentary) autofocus during video recording. It also has a touchscreen display that I'm not really a fan of. The T5i was recently introduced, but it has almost no benefit over the T4i.
