Katamari in Minnesota!

Hi everyone!
I'm looking for help accomplishing my dream cosplay!
I'd like to plan a skit and cosplay group for Anime Detour '09, but I don't really have as many people involved as I'd like. Ideally, I'd like a group of 10 or so people, more would be amazing and a few less would be acceptable.
The cosplay group would be Katamari Damacy (and the other two games in the series). There are more than 40 cousins plus the King and Queen, so there are plenty of options. I'm not looking for any character in particular, I just want a large group of characters.
My skit idea is very, very simple. In Beautiful Katamari (Xbox 360) there is a dance that all of the cousins do together and I would like to re-create that dance. The skit would be very short, I think less than a minute, but if the costumes are done well enough then it's sure to be a fan favorite.
I'm also looking for help making the costumes. I'd like each and every costume to be a collaborative project to some extent (or at least have some specific guidelines for construction) so that the style of one doesn't seem drastically different than the style of another. With such similar looking characters and such a complex design it's important that they seem uniform.
I have a basic idea and layout for how the costume would work (it involves chicken wire, PVC and stuffing or some sort of foam) and I have an idea for how to keep the faces open so that we don't all need escorted around the halls. I took some measurements and it seems that the heads wont be obstructive to the traffic flow and wont run into other people, which is pretty important to me.
I have no idea what the cost would be. I'm guessing between $30 and $100 per costume, but that's an extremely rough estimate. Obviously the cost depends greatly on the character and on the individual's body size, and on whether the supplies are bought during a really great sale or not.
We have plenty of time so kinks in the construction can be easily worked on, and there's more than enough time to make the costumes (and to fit it into your schedule), to work out the skit and get it well rehearsed, etc.
So, I guess I'm just wondering - Is anyone interested?
