How can I style a wig for a Sonic/Shadow the Hedgehog cosplay?

I'm kinda new at styling wigs... and I know almost nothing when it comes to spiking wigs.
However, Sonic the Hedgehog and Shadow the Hedgehog have HUGE spikes. And Shadow has 2 different colours.

I'm making Shadow wig and outfit for my friend. She's a huge Sonic the Hedgehog series fan and it'll be her first cosplay, so I don't want to mess up T_T

Also, is this eBay user alright to buy from? are the wigs good quality? I noticed they are cheap... which with my budget is a good thing ^^;;

Well, I really can't help you with the spiking (though I can say I'd probably use a punky wig as a base), however I can tell you that the eBay shop is very good. Several people here, including me, have bought wigs from them before without any troubles what-so-ever.

I've never spiked a wig myself, but I have heard that this tutorial is a pretty good spiking tutorial. I hope it helps.

And in regards to that particular eBay store, I have heard that it is a very good place to buy wigs. I think I was talking to someone in the Oklahoma thread who uses that store exclusively.
