Awesome pictures! Thanks for posting them!
Congratulations to the Full Metal Alchemist team! The Sangokushi team's costumes look great too. (Do you have any performance pictures? ) |

Thanks Widya, the photos you uploaded of each team is very appreciated! m(_ _)m I know judging can be demanding.

You're welcome!
![]() I was wondering if it would be possible to get a critique of our costumes and performances from one of the judges, if they have any spare time? We would love to know what we did right, and most importantly, what wasn't so great. Even though I feel we've grown from the experience, I'm worried that without knowing where we need to improve, we might be going after the wrong elements. We can only critique ourselves from one side... if that makes any sense? Part curiosity, part determination to make myself a better cosplayer, and part masochist, drives me to ask. I already know I'm too fat; Pete told me none too subtly on the flight home! ![]() With the quality of this year's competitors, I realise next year is going to be completely insane... and I can't wait to see it! ![]() Last edited by Melanie : 08-30-2008 at 08:05 PM. |

Seriously though, I took short notes on everyone's performance- I don't have them now, I gave them all to Kenny, perhaps write to Kenny and see if he will release those notes. Not long at all though, about ten words. Widya Santoso -- PS. I told your brother not to say that!!! ![]() |

Mel, you are not the only one asking about judges advice, so what I might do is send an email to the judges asking for 2 things: what they like about your group and what needs improvement. I'll get each judge to write a little bit about each team and send all the comments in one go to each team. How does that sound?

I feel so sorry for Cescat having her accident, it's a shame those guys weren't able to compete this year. However Tsubaki and Catty look so cute, I'm so impressed with the work Tsubaki put into her armour, the details are exceptional. I love their interview with the WCS team, those guys are so sweet, they totally deserved to win but they were so humble about it. Shows true strength in character I think.
The outfits from Tsubasa Chronicles are lovely too. I can't wait til next years as I'm so excited to see much more of the work that us Aussie Cosplayers can put out there. Australia let's make a name for ourselves! ![]() |

I would have loved having one in Perth too, but both Supanova and Wai-Con contacted me about running it, and we asked them to participate to the cost by flying someone from Animania to Perth, they both rejected the idea. I don't think they realise how much Animania is investing in WCS, so asking to run the a preselection round without helping with the cost is like "yeah, right!".

lol, it'd be great to have an Animania in Perth though. I wouldn't wanna drive there though. It'd be like 3 days on the road. D=
