Anime bangs?

Hello, I was wondering if I could get some help with "anime bangs"
my friend is cosplaying Edward Elric and we've been trying to figure out how to get his bangs to stand up. I found one thread like this , but the tutorial posted had been removed due to copywright.
can anyone help me out?

there's a reference in case you guys need it ^^

Im assuming that you are starting with a no-bangs wig, and cutting bangs into it.

Set up the bangs as you normally would, but remember to keep the middle part. Make sure that its longer than what you need. So if the bangs are going to land around mid-face (below the eyes) then you should work with bangs that are at least chin length (you can cut down if its still too long)

1) Start with one side (ie right side - your right facing the wig). Grab your wig fiber for the hair that will be your bangs, and brush/comb first, straight up, and then toward your right (at an angle).
2) Spray with hairspray and blow dry.
3) Continue, by adding a 'curve' as you guide the hair toward you (away from your wig) to add in the "puff" under.

That's the best way I can describe it, as I dont have pictures to show you. If im able to, I'll see if I have an extra wig to demonstrate this on.

I think, by the vernacular, that she means with RL hair. >.> My friend uses some hair stuff to get the piece-y look to it, but I don't know what it is. And I don't know how to do that with your real hair without doing something similar to what Annie-Mei wrote. But have somebody else do the combing/spraying/blowdrying.

Here's a quick and dirty tutorial:

click the thumbnail (below the image) on the left to follow the steps.

ETA: Here's an example of how the bangs can be worked in, with the "poof" as demonstrated by Katie Bair's Edward Elric wig
