Personal situations such as this is most likely not appropriate on the forum not unless they are a listed seller, but even then, it should be kept out of here anyways...

Though I will offer my grain of sand.

3 years? I think it's pretty much a lost cause trying to get it back...They've been ignoring you, and they pretty much conned you good as I can see. Did you pay through Paypal? Did you have a contract? Paypal costumer service is horrible from what I heard, but this story seems pretty clean cut...but...you shouldn't have waited three years! They might ask you why and hold that against you.

That website over there doesn't really have good confirmation that it's reliable. Plus, that Kairi costume there looks really shotty anyway, and the Website doesn't really look updated.

Since it is most likely (and most unfortunately) that you will not get your money now, why not just post a formal review of this, with formatting and all (in front page) and warn other people.

Name of Merchant: Dani's Cosplay Supplies/Cosplay Supplies
Website: http://www.cosplaysupplies.com/
Item purchased (please include quantity): $90 of Wonderflex
Links to picture(s) of your received item: Never recived ANYTHING
Timeline (how long your order took to process): Don't know, never recived

Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments.
I ordered wonderflex from them in summer of 2007. I had just moved from Arizona back to New Jersey, has yet to settle down so I put a note into my PAYPAL note asking them to PLEASE sent the wonderflex to a friend in Penn. I had to order it then because of a upcoming convention.

Time come and went, my friend never recived the package. When e-mailed them regarding it. They say it is their policy to mail the package to the address on the account, which is what they did. I argued that since I put a note, in CAPLOCK so they would see it, explaining the situation. Shouldn't I have at LEAST get a e-mail explaining they can't do that? And the package they said they send out NEVER came. Although they gave me a tracking number, it never brought up anything on USPS.com, as if they never even send it. When I pointed this out to them, the e-mails grew rude and accusing me that it is my problem. Since then, I have adviced people against (and met people who also had a bad experience with) Dani's.

If you need wonderflex, don't go to then, go to their supplier: http://www.dazian.com/cgi-bin/page.p...=337&group_id=

Final Grade: F, would give a lower grade if it is possible.

Name of Commissioner: Use
Website/C.com gallery: http://blog.yam.com/user/uses0208.html (Chinese)
Character commissioned: Mikoshiba Shouta of DOLLS
Links to picture: Her picture: http://album.blog.yam.com/show.php?a...83&i=140306563
Timeline: Around a year?
Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments.

Use is a commissioner located in Taiwan who also does coslay photography. I always heard good things about her so when she opened a commission for DOLLS uniform, I placed one. She is not a cheap commissioner, the set of hat, jacket, belt, pins, armband, holsters... etc add up to about $250 with another $50 or $60 in shipping. But I simply rather get a full set that matched because I'm ADD.

Communication is as good as possible when both parties were having health issues (she have chronic eye problem). It was a new experience for both of us as she never commissioned for someone out of Taiwan (she usually ask the buyer to stop by her office for a fitting, obviously because I'm in USA, I couldn't do that) and I've never bought directly from a Taiwnese commissoner before. But it felt like we were both figuring out how to make it work (she doesn't accept PAYPAL, what post service to use... etc) together so it wasn't an annoying experience and we constantly kept each other updated as to what's going on on each side of the pacific.

When the cosplay got lost in the mail the first time, she made another set and set it to me with, paying for increased shipping out of pocket (which I will be paying her back.) The fitting isn't exactly the best as I wasn't there, but it is to be expected. Her way of sewing isn't what I would do, but it works so I'm happy. I would gladly work with her again, although I might want to be in Taiwan the next time I try.

Final Grade: A

Name of Commissioner: smplmnfly (Ebay ID) aka Delilah's Keep
Website/C.com gallery: http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/smplmnfly
Character commissioned: A pirate shirt
Links to picture: Will update later
Timeline: 1 week
Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments.

I needed a pirate-like shirt, and i figured it was easier for me to order one than to make one. I couldn't find the exact one I need, but when I saw the shop with it's similar items and promise to custom make the size, I send them a note asking it if was possible to modify their designs into something I need. They said okay and I ordered it. Giving them the measurements and my requirements.

They work extremely fast, I got the product within a week of paying. The only thing I would complain about them is that the material is a bit thin and see-through, but it is fine with me as I am wearing a jacket over the shirt anyway. The work is also not the most clean as I had to snip a little bit of lose thread here and there. But the important thing is, they did everything I asked them to do and we talked about. So I would gladly use them again... just might ask them to use a thicker fabric next time for the white.

Name of Merchant: Cosworx
Website: http://www.cosworx.com
Item purchased (please include quantity): Alicia XXL in Silver White(1), Punky in Blue(1), Wig Cap
Links to picture(s) of your received item: None yet
Timeline (how long your order took to process): March 22th-April 1st(Shipped on the 25th)
Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments: It took a bit longer to process my order than I'd have liked(It's probably because I ordered on a Sunday), but it was within a reasonable amount of time- I believe it shipped out on the 25th. Shipping was a little slower than normal speed for UPS, but that was due to bad weather in Colorado- nothing Cosworx, or anyone, could do anything about. Once I got the items, I was very pleased to see that they were as good quality as Cosworx claimed them to be- in fact, they were better. The pictures on the website don't do them justice.(especially in the case of Punky.) Cosworx was also cheaper than Amphigory on both wigs, which is an added bonus. . I'd definitely order from them again- and would advise others to do so- but be prepared for a possible delay if you order your wig in the winter(or even early spring), as it may have to go through Colorado. ^^;.

The Commissioner Review Thread

2. QQ Cosplay.com
http://qqcosplay.com
Kingdom Hearts 2: Riku
http://www.qqcosplay.com/KHII/img/khiirkuwhw01.jpg
Worn: Katsucon and to date
Pros: Cheap Price, good quality cosplay. She was very good with keeping up with my stupidity when it came to paypal. She was amazing when it came down to sizing and everything was well. I was happy to accept her finished work.
Con: Unfortunately, some things aren't accurate. The vest is a little to light and missing a few things, plus they are missing the studs on the ends of the collar. the undershirt wasn't made to accuracy as it didn't open from the bottom and top.
The pants were an off color and too tight.
Comments: She is very fair for what she asks. The costume itself is nearly indestructable and takes a good beating. I wore it for 4 days and wear parts of it as normal fashion.
Final Grade: B-
[I don't have a picture of me wearing it except in others galleries. XDD]

I've also never realized that QQCosplay was listed as both a merchant and a commissioner, so that's been sorted as well

Haruhi Suzumiya, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya: School Uniform (winter), comes with headband and armband
[no pictures, yet]
I ordered on the March 22 and got it April 9
Pros: Communication was great. They reply really quickly and they're really polite and nice. ^^ (lol, but sometimes their grammer is a bit off...) I love my cosplay, it looks exactly like the picture they had on the website (though, i did hear that they stole the pictures off some other site). The price was considerably cheap. (my friend, being a critic as he is, said the colour was a bit off [from the anime, not the picture]...but i, personally, love it)
Cons: It was a bit too big...=.= but maybe that's my fault i didn't custom make it...O_o
Comments: Overall, it was a very good experience!
Final Grade: A

Timeline- I asked for a price and how long it would take to make it. I was answered with in 24 hours. I was told it was going to take about two weeks. After I made the payment. I had it with in I believe nine days. It was incredible.

Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments-My costume was medicore. My wig wasn't great. But my Keyblade got so many wonderful comments. It was nice and decently light weight. The detail was amazing. I have only used it at Nekocon 2008. I plan on bring it to Otakon 2009. I didn't get any really good pictures of me with the keyblade. It was either turned the wrong way or I was in the picture with someone else and they were blocked it.
I was around a group of other Kingdom Hearts characters. I had another Sora cosplayer Beg me to be able to hold the keyblade.

Final Grade:Amazing Detail. Craftsmanship was impeccable. It was sent in a wonderfully quick fashion.
A++ 100 percent.

Character commissioned and series/video game (please include if this was the entire costume, just a jacket, prop, accessory, wig, etc.) Whole costume, Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi; Haruhi + Kyon school uniforms
Links to picture(s) of your commissioned item: http://smilingsootball.deviantart.co...i-III-86471234 I dont have a photo of the Kyon, but it was just as nice
Timeline (how long your order took to process): 1.5 months from contact and payment to delivery
Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments.
Pros- S/he owns a embroydery machine. Therefore things like logos are very professionally done. Everything is very well tailored. Quite accurate to design. Also the price is good and they are willing to meet reasonable budget. They are my main cosplay costume commishioner, and I have tried many. I am usually very happy with their work.

Cons- The Kyon jacket was a little off the ref. colour. Also, from past experience they make outfits for girls better fit than men. Also, I tend to give a little larger measurements than actua l size, which gives me a perfect fit so they may have a tendency to sew things a little small.

Comments: I would really reccomend this commishioner, even with my first negative experience with them a few years back I have commishioned 4 more outfits after that and all have been very good. Their construction and patterns are nice, and well fitting. They definately know how to sew professionally.

Name of Commissioner: cosplaycommish/cosplaymandy

Website/C.com gallery: http://s530.photobucket.com/albums/dd347/cosplaymandy/

Character commissioned and series/video game (please include if this was the entire costume, just a jacket, prop, accessory, wig, etc.): Two costumes - one Riza Hawkeye, one Roy Mustang, both from Fullmetal Alchemist. They were the full military uniforms, minus the boots, undershirts, wig and Black Hayate. ^__^

Links to picture(s) of your commissioned item: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?pi...8&id=904810566

Timeline (how long your order took to process): Oh, goodness, not that long...about a month and a half to two months? It didn't seem like that long, anyway.

Describe your Experience. Pros, Cons, Comments: Mandy was a very nice person to work with. Her communication was good, but in my opinion it lagged a little. Of course, that could just be due to the fact that I was a little paranoid about being scammed. Her prices were pretty reasonable, but just a tad on the expensive side (something like $280 for both costumes), but the materials were high-quality. She especially did a great job with the detailing on the costumes as far as the military bars and stars - she even sent two pairs of Mustang's gloves, which I thought was neat since I didn't assume we were getting them.

The only problem I had was with the pants and "skirt" for both costumes - they were both far too big and I had to resize all of them before the convention. I don't know whether the problem was with my measurements or with her sewing, but either way, thankfully I know my way around a sewing machine for the most part. Otherwise, they looked great and we got a ton of compliments.

Final Grade: I would say a B, or if I can't just say a straight B, then probably a B-. If I need another commission at some point, I will probably work with her again, but resizing the pants and skirts was kind of a pain.
