I recently finished Bioshock, and I've fallen in love with the game. I want to cosplay either a Little Sister or a Big Sister from the upcoming Bioshock 2. Has anyone managed a Bioshock cosplay?

I agree that was like the best tutorial ever, I want to be a big sister (too big to be a little sister) for the one time I go to Comic con. It will most definitely take awhile for me to create.

yup.

For those of you who haven't seen the Big Sister in action, there's a video of some gameplay footage called "Hunting the Big Sister." It's also got a brief shot of the "prototype" Big Daddy... a costume I'll be working on for Anime Central 2010.

Hunting the Big Sister

One of my colleagues will be putting together the Big Sister costume. With her as Big Sister, me as Big Daddy (the "prototype" you play as) and another colleague as a Little Sister, we'll have a whole little Bioshock group. The tutorial someone linked up there will probably be really helpful - thank you so much for linking, Sixx!

Big Sister
"Prototype" Big Daddy

I love the Big Daddy prototype. For a smaller person like me, it is a much more plausible costume. There's less armor, a more humanoid shape in general, and the drill is still there (a big plus on my part!). I'll probably upload progress photos once I get started, along with video tutorials on our cosplay website. Good luck to all fellow Bioshock cosplayers!

I too am planning a Bioshock group . . . with the same three characters. If the group doesn't work out, I'd still like to do a Big Sister. The costume appeals to me, and shouldn't take too long to make or be too complicated. I'm gonna assume that a lotta people will attempt the costume, but that not many will pull it off. I've seen photos of 3 Big Sister cosplays already:

Looking at these photos, I'm thinking that it's important to get the correct helmet diameter. So I did some measuring and calculation, and decided that a 12" diameter would be proportionally correct for my height.

Thanks for the compliments! Actually, your Midna helmet is what got me into this hobby in the first place - My fiancee's helmet was one of the first props I ever attempted, and I used a lot of your build images as reference, so thanks!

Big Daddy is one hell of a costume. The prototype is no less a daunting task, in my opinion. I have seen some very detailed renders of that drill arm and the amount of intricacy in there is just insane. Best of luck to those looking to tackle Big Daddy and the Big Sister, and I'm glad my blog can be of help in your efforts.

Volpin, Your blog was a big help in planning out how my fiancé's Big Sister is going to be built. It got us rev'ed back up to work on a project that we'd let slide, and stuff like casting the non-functional hardware to save weight will be a lifesaver. (I would've just been dumb, and used actual steel parts >.<)

Oh dear, I've also been trying to find refrence pictures of the new splicer designs as well, but as far as I know (aside from the mask) it's the new Baby Jane model. I haven't been able to find any drawn references, but in this video (@3:56) you can see the front of the dress quite well (sort of a ruched-halter top, a fallen strap with a slip underneathe).

I cosplayed as a Little Sister, and noone knew where I was from. They were all "silent hill?" and FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUU---"Bioshock", "sorry i dont know it"
